Mountain Magesty (diorama)

This is a diorama that I made for a magical man on a magical mountain that I wanted to make an altar piece for. The box itself was a 1970s travel box with tourist info pamphlets about all the different continents. Much of the information was quite racist. I covered it in tree fabric that was given to me at a set shop I work for, and green triangle fabric from Senegal that a friend gave me. Everything in this thing is a found object, each little thing having its own story. There are many keys and old jewelry, some pieces of polymer clay tiny sculptural things that I made (like the rainbow--from pieces of jewelry that I made that broke or didn't work out). There is quite a bit of little metal/wire sqigglies that I found on the street that had been run over by cars a million times. The bejeweled mouse mummy with crystal and color blasting out it's corpus I found in an old shed full of antiques in Santa Cruz. That thing could be from the late 1800s. He's lookin' good, eh? Hopefully this whole box of treasures brings that spirit of the forest some good luck and tidings of eternity.
